Too big
Jack is a big kid! At only 5 months old he was far too big for this seat. His head was over the top. Rear-facing there needs to be an inch of seat above the child's head.
Straps too loose
Here is Jack again. He is now forward facing in a tropper but the straps are too loose. Also a shield isn't the safest choice, 5-points are considered safer. Also the chest clip is too low.

No Snowsuits
The snowsuit is definitely too thick for use in carseat. In an accident, it could compress and the child ejected from the harness.
blanket behind back
Jenn really wanted him warm! Putting thick blankets behind the back isn't recomended.
head insert
Head inserts that come with a seat have been tested with them. Seats that didn't come with an insert have not.
